Amy was born and raised in Grants Pass, Oregon where she learned to love Shakespeare at the nearby Oregon Shakespeare Festival. After a year of community college in Portland, OR and Salem, OR, she moved to Santa Barbara, California to attend Westmont College. She went on to work in humanitarian aid and disaster relief. Upon realizing a passion for education, Amy earned her teaching credential and taught sixth grade English before moving across the country to attend Boston University where she earned a Masters in Education.
Missing the “best” coast, she returned to Washington where she began teaching English for Bellevue Christian School. After teaching for six years and serving as the Clyde Hill librarian for two, she is thrilled to be in her current role of Director of Curriculum and Innovation. Amy also teaches graduate courses at Northwest University. Amy lives with her husband, Parker, and Golden Retriever, Nelli, both of whom are the best of their respective kinds. |
