Boyd Vander Houwen has worked in communications and messaging throughout his career as a newspaper reporter/editor, Manager of Employee Communications for a regional bank, and as a messaging consultant for internal and external corporate audiences. His clients are in health care, trust and financial services and the coffee industry, among others.
He owns Vander Houwen Public Relations in Bellevue. His focus is on employee messaging and story telling, branding, and crisis management. He particularly enjoys helping organizations develop and improve their customer service commitment. Clients have included Laird Norton Trust Company, Starbucks, Group Health (now Kaiser Permanente), First Mutual Bank in Bellevue, (now Washington Federal) and Baker Boyer Bank in Walla Walla. He earned a BA from the School of Journalism at the University of Montana, and also a BA in Economics and a Master’s degree in Communications from the University of Washington. |
