Before beginning her event planning business in 2007, Janis primarily worked at universities believing that the student should constantly be the focus to enhance their learning experience. Ms. Flagg also worked in the Development Office at another university in the annual giving program. Later she worked for a joint Canadian and U. S. regulatory agency.
In 2007, she began her business when people asked if she did event planning for a living. She has always loved helping people with various celebrations ranging from weddings, milestone celebrations, galas, celebration of life events, business marketing events, and fundraisers. Janis has been on the planning committee for the Kent International Festival for nearly a decade and on its Executive Board since 2017. Creativity, problem solving, educating, and building connections through creating networks, have been her strong points. In 2019, Janis Flagg wrote a book "Wedding Planning Unmasked!" to represent what wedding vendors think couples really need to know before planning a wedding. Janis is looking forward to being a part of the Tombolo Design Thinking Advisory Board and being connected to higher education again. |
