Jon Liechty’s Bio
Jon Liechty is vice president, Operations Innovation for Starbucks. In this role, Jon is accountable for driving innovation in the service experience across US Retail locations. Leveraging service design principles to identify and close gaps in the experience through technology, automation, and workflow improvements.
Jon started his career with Starbucks 18 years ago as a barista, and worked his way to District Manager where he oversaw a portfolio of twelve stores in Seattle. In 2009, Jon became director, Global & America Operations where he developed and drove the global workforce management strategy for Starbucks retail business.
In 2013, Jon moved to Hong Kong where he assumed the role of director, Regional Operations for Starbucks China and Asia Pacific. While in this role, Jon provided strategic oversight of operational initiatives that improved execution and customer service, and delivered record revenue and profit growth across the region. Then in 2015, Jon moved to Mumbai, India to become Director of Operations for TATA Starbucks Limited where he was responsible for retail operations across Starbucks fastest growing new market.
Jon returned to Seattle in 2016 to lead Operations for Asia-Pacific, while also studying philosophy at Arizona State University as part of the Starbucks College Achievement Plan. In his spare time, Jon leverages his leadership experience for the benefit of local charitable and civic organizations as an engaged global citizen.
