Julia Lee is from Denver, Colorado where she first stepped into the cannabis industry in 2014 after leaving the Colorado School of Mines where she studied Petroleum Engineering to work at the front desk of a dispensary. Since then, Julia has relished the experience of cultivating her cannabis career.
While in Denver, Julia had the opportunity to work as a budtender, retail store manager, operations manager for a CO2 extraction lab, and operations manager for a vertically integrated company. After moving to Washington State in 2017, she held the role of Operations Manager for The Cannabis Alliance, a nonprofit trade organization that lobbies and advocates for the equitability and sustainability of cannabis businesses. Julia is also an alumni staff member of Cannabis Observer, a team of citizen observers and advocates who create outstanding information about cannabis policymaking in Washington state for stakeholders, the public, and policymakers. Most recently, Julia was the Operations Manager of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop, one of the top-selling cannabis retail chains in Washington. Today, Julia is a part of Jane Technologies, Inc.’s Partner Success Team and serves as an advisory board member for Tombolo Institute’s Design Thinking Program at Bellevue College and was featured in Marijuana Ventures 40 Under 40 issue for 2020. Julia believes that teams who practice shared operationalized values, communicate clear expectations, and embrace vulnerability can make magic happen. |
