Kathy is the Projects and Innovation Manager for Puget Sound Conservation at The Nature Conservancy in Washington. She has 10 years of experience domestically and internationally managing environmental, public health, and technology-related research and innovation projects, and mentoring innovation teams to design elegant solutions that will solve real problems. She believes wholeheartedly that every problem is a human problem and, for that reason, developing empathy for people and putting people at the center of problem solving is a must.
Kathy received a B.S. in biology and chemistry, and a M.S. in environmental science and public health, both from UNC Chapel Hill. She has experience working on a number of projects spanning multiple topic areas, including restoration, water quality, food safety, food security, sanitation technologies, women's global health, and more. She is passionate about finding creative solutions for people and nature to co-exist in a way that's healthy and productive, and applying design thinking methods to creative problem solving. Kathy lives in Seattle and loves spending time outdoors as much as possible with her pup, Charlie Brown. |
