Pamela Elessa has a Master’s in Social Work, from the University of Washington’s School of Social Work and has been working with children, youth and families for over 20 plus years. In 2011 she received an Innovation Award from the YWCA for her work with families moving into transitional housing after incarceration. Her main focus has been on program development the prevention of homelessness. Her experience draws from several of the largest social service providers in the country, the YWCA, the YMCA, King County Workforce Initiatives, and Uplift Northwest, formerly known as The Millionair Club.
As a Program Director she has forged strong relationships with Seattle Public Schools, Seattle Housing Authority and King County Housing Authority, United Way, City of Seattle, HUD, and the Robert E Johnson Foundation. In 2016 Pamela transitioned her focus from a Housing First perspective, to a Work First perspective researching what makes and keeps individuals motivated, engaged, and excited about life. She’s codeveloped curriculum on pre-employment training, selfcare, and emotional intelligence. Pamela is enthusiastic, inquisitive, and optimistic about life and the human ability to adapt and change for the better. In her spare time, she enjoys music, literature and cooking. |
